I'm with Bunkie on this one. When I took the class when
I was hired in a school with Potter's wheels in '83, I
was able to center clay almost perfectly. Now I TELL the
students how to do it and try to discourage them from
trying it out. I only allow it after school and I give
excuses like "Your fingernails are too long," "I don't
think you are strong enough," or, "It takes too long and
you'll miss the late bus."
