Re: H.S. Watercolor/ink project

Date: Tue Oct 02 2001 - 16:26:09 PDT

Hello fellow artsednetters, I have a project that I like to do in my Art 2
class that uses watercolor-wash, lifting and wet on wet techniques. Over the
watercolor we use pen and ink to illustrate the subject with the colors
behind the ink.

Anyway, I am using Birds, Insects (butterflies, moths, etc.) and Flowers as a
subject. These will be separate drawings that are put together as a montage
with a central figure in a large circle. I wanted to bring into a
discussion, some artists that specialize in these subjects especially if they
are illustrators or use watercolor. I have thought of James Audubon for
birds and Georgia O'Keeffe for flowers but I'm sure there are many more. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ken Schwab
