<< Kindergarten art class >>

Recently I showed a video I purchased marked down at the grocery callled "When
Bears Go Fishing" Shows grizzly bears in Alaska with young and fishing for
salmon - also abit of WWF when two mama bears tangle. the kids love it and
draw then paint bears using circles for their bodies and rectangles for their
legs.
All simplified. Those that lose their bear shapes while painting can then
cut out
paper bears and fish and glue them down on the now "abstract" background. I
found
another one callled "Cat Capers" - shows cats of many varieties and ages
playing
with toys and each other. The kids find it very funny and love to draw from
it. I;'d
love to have a real bear or cat in the classroom but videos have to be it.

VAn Gogh sunflowers - paper plates covered with construction paper torn petals
really long and breezy. Turn out quite well - black paper seeds for middle -
fear real ones would fall off and make mess when hung on display - want to
stay friends
with custodians.
