Thanksgiving Illus - fun-elem

Another fun one of Shels is "The Turkey Shot out of the Oven" For several
I had my second graders illustrate this one and they had a fabulous time with
all the imaginative ways they could catch the turkey and the animals ducking
and Mother
screaming and Dad yelling etc. Of course they were shown as the hero/heroine
in the drawings. Am moving it up to third grade as I skipped this last year
so we could draw it this year. We will use colored pencils I think and fine
line sharpie for outlining.

Also have had fifth grade illustrate the Jabberwocky - we studied dragons of
cultures and read the poem. Many were absolutely wonderful and so colorful
We used markers for color and illustrating pens for fine details. Think we
will do this in the doldrums of the winter before moving into our math/art
