If you've already decided to do the"cutesy" piece as entertainment for these
kids, why not look at crafts around the world and have them create end
projects; you know, projects that they can give as gifts? They will be
learning some skills -- they will see an end result that they can use -- and
hopefully they will come around. After this year, when you have some people
on your side, so to speak, you can do a fine arts program again. Maybe these
kids don't have ANY connection to fine arts and don't really know where to
start. You have to somehow make their work relevant to their lives. Good
