dough and flour allergies

Date: Sat Oct 21 2000 - 21:24:10 PDT

Dear Leslie,
Checked my "dough" files, and never realized just how MANY home made dough
recipes include FLOUR. This one didn't, but I'm not sure the sticky kind is
the best for some kindergarteners. How about a JELL-O base? Can this
student use store or brand Play-Dough? Maybe you could have some separate
from the others? Good luck.

I need the greater wisdom of this wonderful list. I have a kindergartner,
who is allergic to all things with wheat.

His mother would like to make play dough for the class. She has tried making
it from Rice flour. Didn't work.

Has any of you come across a recipe, without wheat flour, that works. I
think he's allergic to Barley, too. She has tried Rye but it didn't work.

Thanks in advance.

Leslie in Framingham.
