Years ago I did a lesson called the Great Green Jungle of Overlap....I think
the idea came from the publication Arts and Activities. Anyway, use any old
green construction paper you can find, green roll paper, etc. Cut out huge
leaves, cutting in multiples when possible. May need to paint or cover the
panels with roll paper...don't know your budget or supplies on hand. Maybe
you could spray paint panels....ahead of time. The background color would
not have to cover real well because you would be gluing a lot of stuff on it.
Anyway, have each child be responsible for a giant animal from the
jungle.....or a giant flower.....or a giant insect.....do a little research
on flora and fauna of the jungle ahead of time. Use roll paper of a variety
of colors and add oil pastels and or paint to add details. Use a low heat
glue gun to glue all of the stuff on the panels with lots of overlapping.
Leaves can be folded symmetrically so they stick out a bit. Do the gluing
yourself after the children are gone if time is short....if you have to add
more leaves you can make a few more yourself......
