I use the round tempera paints in the trays. Like Jerry I am
successful cleaning them when they are still damp.

I hold the tray at an angle and run water over the entire surface so
that everything runs off the black paint. This is quick and leaves
all the colors clean. I also have meat/fish trays a little larger
under the palettes of paint so that if there are holes or cuts in the
bottom of the palettes the paint does not leak all over the desks.
