Re: Writing in the art room

Sorry to sound contrary but if that is what the principal wants from you then
I wouldn't bother displaying it. Your PRIMARY responsibility is to teach ART.
To spend that kind of time on a writing assignment in an art room ; I am not
willing to sacrifice what I could give them in art production,or discussion,
or art history.
I too had tried the whole kids writing a short story to go along with
handmade papers collages, and just getting a couple paragraphs at the
elementary level is overwhelming in the confines of a 50 minute block of
time.; let alone getting them to write it legibly. I feel that is not my
primary obligation so I decided to let it go and emphasize the other aspects
of DBAE more., if they write in class we keep it real simple, if at all.
Just my 2 cents, sorry if I offended anyone out there.
