One of the best ways to serve this population is to provide activities that require the students to solve an open-ended problem-
don't limit the criteria for solving the assignment.
I do this every week. In fact our elementary school of 600 has about 75 kids that get an hour of estra services each month.
I provide all of this as well as maintain their portfolios (which will go with them to Middle school). I also take anecdotal notation on their work that will validate special services for them in their future educaiton. I hope you enjoy your students as much as I do. We have a very formal (and not altogether realistic or accurate process for the identificaiton of the visually gifted students.)
