Organizing Update!
Substitute leaders in San Bernadino City Unified, Pajaro Valley =
Unified,=20
(Watsonville), and Gary, Indiana Community School District are =
mobilizing sub=20
teachers to advance to the bargaining table through a petition gathering =

process and through simultaneous media outreach. NSTA is encouraging =
these=20
organizing efforts around the country and we have garnered the support =
of=20
Representative Tom Scrimenti in Pennsylvania and PSEA rep, Francis =
Santicola.=20
Our PA rep to NSTA, Jen, is actively involved in getting subs to =
spearhead an=20
organizing drive in the Keystone State because of its depressed wages. =
Rep.=20
Scrimenti is aiding the cause of Pennsylvania substitutes by sponsoring=20
legislation that will significantly improve their lot and that of their=20
students.
