My girlfriend teaches little ones, and she is very happy with smocks she
found in a catalogue. They are basically like dad's old shirts, but A) they
fit, so the sleeves don't constantly slip down B) they have elastic cuffs so
kids' hands are free, and C) they have velcro (in the back) instead of
buttons - much easier to manage.

Of course I don't know what catalogue - I'll ask and post, if someone doesn't
post it first.
