I may be able to help on the clay whistle problem. After taking a class on
making clay whistles I was pretty discouraged. Then I read a lesson on the
internet for making whistles (go to yahoo and search and I'll look for my
copy and address in the meantime). The area I had messed up on was making
the hole in the top square. Even though you go into it at a 90 degree angle,
it must be square to make it whistle. Once I started making them the hole on
top square they worked. I also read that any holes for making different
notes should be above the half-way mark of the whistle body. If you keep
having trouble let me know. I'm about to make these with a whole class. I
have made them with special ed kids so I helped with every one. Genie Holt,
