Hi Jane,
I'll try to answer your question of perception vs visualization. When
I see a printed number--I see it as it is printed--same with letters. If
I "think" the number, I see it in color. By the way, I see one as
silver, two as gray, three is red, four is blue, five is green. My
brother "sees" numbers and letters in color--but his are different from
mine. My parents thought we made associations because of the numbers and
letters on our blocks--but we had the same blocks and still argued over
the colors.
