Anyway, we've talked about artist biographies, living artists interviews,
and similiar subjects. My middle school students will start researching
artists when we get back on Monday. I've collected some great web-sites
that they can get information on and posted it on my "on-line classroom" for
easier access than marking every bookmark in the lab. This page is at:
This unit will be like a "pilot" test for my thesis research that I'll do in
the spring when my kids research artists on the internet. I want to prove
that interactive technology motivates and provides for more student-centered
instruction than traditional methods of research and slide presentations.
Check out the site because there's some great resources listed. I'd love to
hear any other resources- like art search engines, artist index, examples of
students' reports, testimonials, etc.- and I'll post them on the page.
