allergies, etc.

Reading the posts about children with allergies reminded me of a problem at
the high school level: we have students who are pregnant and probably
shouldn't be exposed to some of the stuff we use-especially in photo lab.
However, unless the student herself tells us, we can't get the school nurse
or other authorities to violate the child's privacy. Personally, I have
worried about being held accountable years from now for a situation I may
have known nothing about at the time. Granted, we are very careful about
using toxic substances, but who knows what will be discovered about
seemingly harmless things 5 or 10 years from now? How do you all handle this
