Wizzle, I just read the post asking you to stay. I'd like to add my voice to
that request. It's infuriating to be targeted with criticism or arrogance
and requires maturity to deal with negative attitudes. It requires so little
energy or thought to be nasty that one must question the maturity of those
who "snap". There have been several times over the last year that these
types of interactions have occurred. I'm not sure yet what exactly happened
because I still have 122 messages to get through, but remember, with any
group of people there will be conflict, we must police our own behavior and
we evidently have to stand up to others when they lack tact. Think of recess
duty. If a teacher always steps in when a child is being bullied, the
bullying persists. The child may have to be taught how to deal with the
bully, they bully may have to be confronted by the group and told the
behavior won't be tolerated and the authorities have to state that the
behavior won't be tolerated.
Essentially, that is up to all of us to monitor or express on the list.
There is no adult with a whistle. Try to view it as another learning
experience and hang in there, ok? Linda K.
