The suggestions already posted, drying slower & firing slowly w/ lots of
venting, are very good. In case these don't work, look at the thickness of
various areas on the object. Very thick edges w/ thin areas in the center
can cause the thin areas to be pulled apart as the piece expands in the
firing. Are you firing with the armatures still in & burning them out?
This could also cause the cracks as the clay shrinks over the armature.
