Robin:

The best place I have found for locating artists is online. Use any of the
directories such as Yahoo. Click on white pages or people search. I have
contacted any number of artists and art professionals this way. All have
responded. I do suggest, however, that you first contact the artists to
determine if they are willing to receive and answer mail from students.

A very well known artist that I am working with now has agreed to be
interviewed by students, but only if we agree to his timeline. It might be a
disappointment to students if they did not know in advance that the artist
cannot respond for a month or more.

You might wish to consider compiling a list of available artists and allowing
your students to work in collaborative teams.

Best of luck,
Pam Stephens
