This brings back the nightmare of my second year teaching. We had a new
administrator who was the biggest jerk I've ever met. I had more ruined
supplies that year than any other. I had a kid doing cartwheels during my
lecture. I had to have the administrator come down and physically remove the
student from my class. That student sat in the office for the remainder of
the period and then went back to class. Parents can only do so much. I had
SOME supportive parents, and a phone call to them would fix things for about
week. The last straw was when I had a student tell me to "F_ _ _ Off" in
class. I sent him to the office, and the administrator sent him back,
telling him to apologize. After school I marched into the superintendants
office (I actually slammed the door! *L*) and told him the entire story.
Turns out I wasn't the only teacher who'd done that. The administrator's
contract was not renewed. His replacement is absolutely awesome! Hang in
