I had my art club make a quilt for the teacher I replaced who went out on
maternity leave. Each student made a batik square of a baby's toy, and then
we handqulted each square and then we pieced all of the squares together. It
was more of a wall hanging than a baby's quilt. Each square was signed by her
former students in the art club. While it wasn't the most "geometrical" of
quilts, it captured the essence of quilting.
