Dear Pam:

In response to your call for a quote in support of having art specialists in your district's elementary schools, here is an article from which I think you can pull some information or a quote. The principal in this article is a wonderful advocate for art education who travels all over the country promoting the value of teaching in and through art.

Good luck!

My school district has no elementary art teachers. Since I moved here 3 years ago I have been working on trying to get something going.

The Elementary Design Team that I have been on since June is submitting a document next week and we have recommended that visual arts taught by a licensed specialist teacher be added to each building.

Every recommendation that we make needs to be backed by research. So, I need a quote that would make a strong impact on the value of an art program at the elementary level. It needs to be one paragraph and concise.
Any Ideas?????
