Hhmm...

Well...most of the teachers in our school district are older than I am, and
I am 45 years of age. Its a smaller school system, and the faculty and
administration are somewhat like a family.

I think part of it is that the superintendent would like to see teachers
take advantage of what having a masters would mean to increasing one's
retirement.

Also...our superintendent is a crusader for education. If we believe in
education...then we should also believe that the furthering of it can only
increase our own learning and benefit the students.

I'm not sure about the prof thing. I sure wouldn't mind being a fine arts
prof....but, much politics goes with it...and tenure a problem often there
as well. Also...I'm not sure many are making as much money as we believe,
which depends on the number of classes they teach.
peace,
