thanks for this thought. i feel quite the same way. after a whole bunch of
life happened ( marriage, kids, moving, mortgage etc.) i landed this middle
school art position. hadent't created art for years. it doesn't mean i'm
not a good teacher. i just hadent created my own art. our hs art teacher is
a exceptional painter. shows and sells work constantly. he does this mostly
on school time. hes working on his own stuff while the kids work with out
his help. good artist, not good teaching!!
i have created more in the few years i have been teaching art than in the
last 15 years am getting better every day. i too mostly make my art around
classroom demonstrations or sketching kids as they work.
as its been said, " there are many different types of artists."
