war in art is Kathe Kollwitz. Her woodcuts and lithographs depict the pain
and brutality of war in simple yet stunning ways.
She is the feature in the following back issues of Scholastic Art:
Art and Man, Dec 84/Jan 85 "Kathe Kollwitz--Working with Light & Dark"
Scholastic Art Dec 93/Jan 94 "Expressionism--Featuring Kathe Kollwitz"
A good reference book is "Kathe Kollwitz" by Otto Nagel,New York Graphic
