<< Just wondering what other arts educators wear when they teach. My
school requires "professional dress." I'd like to wear messy, studio clothes
so I can relax about getting paint and plaster on my presentable clothes.
What do you all wear?

Hi Eliza
I'm with you. I work for a private school on Long Island which pays me a
ridiculously low salary. My principal gave me a hard time when I 1st got
hired, but knock wood, she's let up... I have the kids turning out
outstanding work, and thats probably why... I wear khakis or colored jeans
with cotton sweaters, knits or shirts with straight hems (so as not to call
attention to my 5 pocket jean look) and casual shoes... I can't work if I'm
all dressed up, but I am neat and ironed, but washable!
Speaking of low pay, are any of you aware of any public school openings on
Long Island? Thanx!
Holly
