Hi Everyone!
I really had a wonderful moment today in school today (doesn't happen too
often in my neck of the woods) so I thought I'd pass it on to all of my pals!
Anyway, I know it sounds very simple, but it really worked!! I grabbed some
paper plates (leftovers from some faculty lunch) and I told the kids (2nd
grade) to design plates for a party. We talked about what kind of party it
could be. Some of their ideas included: Pokemon, Barbie, Flower Power,
Thanksgiving, dinosaur, crocodile, rainbow, etc. Well, they had a blast and
they really loved this simple assignment that I thought of 2 seconds before
they walked in the room!! Funny, isn't it? I could take months to plan an
assignment and I fall on my face. A simple paper plate assignment.....that's
successfull!! Go figure!! I hung them on the art bulletin board with a sign
stating"SECOND GRADE ART PARTY PLATES MAJOR COMPETITION FOR HALLMARK"
Love to hear from you all about your successes..... and the bombs too!!
