Hi Liz -- I have been teaching in a very diverse k-5 elementary school for 8
years. I teach regular and adapted art classes. I believe it is both
appropriate and desirable to teach developmentally disabled kids how to draw
correctly proportioned bodies -- I believe the process of looking and drawing
aids in developing not only their drawing skills but also their own body
awareness to a more age-appropriate level. Just my two cents worth! Have a
nice day -- Lisa in SD
