UC Berkeley Press has put a number of their books online free--on art,
culture, sociology, politics. Books come with a search engine so that
you can type in a subject and go to where it's discussed in the book. I
looked at *Hellenistic History and Culture*--interesting, with many
beautiful illustrations.
