RE: HS kids/not taking art seriously

I was out for a week, and then missed two days - so I am trying to catch up
on mail - I apologize if I am repeating or not responding to the question
asked - but here goes... (for the third time... too many lines - twice...
I'm such a novice!)

I had a 7th grade working on impressionism, and I needed them to work in
class, but also wanted them to learn about the artist and accomplishments -
so I had them research and write obituaries and/or eulogies. Presented as a
newscast, speech, or article.... They were pretty good -

another project was to decorate a box in the style of the artist, and
include 5-7 items that would be clues to the artist's identity - they shared
the clues with the class, the significance of each -
