Re: HS Advanced level art classes

Numo, I have enjoyed your contributions to the list re ceramics. I am a
ceramics lover also and incorporate a lot of this into my curriculum.

We are trying to flesh out the high school art department also. Currently
we have Art I--1 semester of Drawing/Painting/Sculpture and 1 semester of
Art History. Art II is an elective and consists of 1 semester of Advanced
Drawing/Painting and Sculpture projects and 1 semester of Photography.
Currently our AP classes are taken during the Senior year and must be
accepted through a portfolio review or have taken Art II.

We are trying to go to more specialized offerings in Art II--i.e. one
semester offerings in Advanced Drawing, Advanced Painting, Sculpture/3-D,
Photography, Printmaking, Computer Graphics, etc. It seems to take a long
time to make these changes in the system, but we keep plugging away!
