no sinks and a frustrated art teacher

Okay, if some of you remember a little while ago I mentioned something
about not having water in my room and the "problems" with the principal. She
no longer wants students getting buckets of water. Pretty good reason:
students are not allowed in the custodial closet (only place to get a bucket
under the sink) because there are dangerous chemicals in the closet.
Students cannot get a mop because of the "dangerous chemical" issue. Now
students cannot wash their hands in a bucket because of a health hazard;
students must wash their hands under running water. AAHH! This all leads to
the fact I have no sinks.
So, I proposed a solution to my principal which flop like a dead fish.
Her comment, "Why is this an issue? Don't you have sinks in your room?" I
wanted to say, well, of course I do, I just carry buckets of water to lift
weights! She told me she would think about a solution of her own, but in the
mean time I am still sinkless with a classroom full of messy students! By
the way she has decided to go out of town, now. (Communication skills are
not her strong suit.) I have decided with the consensus of the faculty to
keep things the same at least until she gets back.
Do you have any ideas on how to combat this problem? It felt good to
just vent. Thanks for reading....:)
