Right now, I am trying to create lessons which are interdisciplinary.
One of my biggest struggles is that I often find myself "teaching" other
subject areas. When I create a lesson, I want to "tie" into other
disciplines; I don't want to have to give entire lesson outside of art. This
is mainly due to previous teachers not teaching required skills (like using
a ruler). I have tried to combat this problem by touching base with all the
teachers. I explain what lesson I will be doing and I look for opportunities
where the lessons can be linked between the classes. This takes a huge load
off of me, and I think makes the lesson "tighter".
