<< I am confused about this. My understanding was that all primary colors

an "army green" or "neutral green". Is this correct or incorrect? >>
The French call it 'bistre' and it is a color. There are so many color
theories around, I don't know if any one is paramount to any other. I was
taught long ago that colors of the spectrum, and any mix thereof, were
colors. Black and white were not colors, but could be mixed with colors for
tinting and shading purposes. Gray scales are different from value scales for
that reason.
