Our Arts Celebration is a huge event. The arts department runs it. We
have included elementary, middle and high school art. We have a silent
art auction with art submitted by some students, teachers and
professionals in the community. But the other arts are included as well:
a gourmet tasting event; computer drafting, mechanical design and
photography; theater kids dress in costume and do short bits from
Shakespeare at various locations. Eventually people go in to see the
show choir and jazz band perform a short program.

I believe we are successful because we have so many elem. students who
insist on dragging parents and grandparents around to see their art and
every other thing. Since it is such and interesting night, once they
come, they will come back. Our sup't chooses one work to be bought by
the school district. There are lots of ribbons and stickers. It IS a
lot of work for one night, though.
