This is already happening in our district. Luckily I have not had to do this
yet. However, some of the other specialists at my school already have
"reading groups". Also, other schools have given art teachers other subject
area classes one or two periods a day. I do not object to integrating other
subjects into my art curriculum. However, teaching reading or math without
art attached is not something I want to do. I do have the credentials and
training to do this, but I don't want to because I am an art educator. If
this happens to me, I will move on to another position.
