Our district would like it that way. I'm certified K-12 visual art,
(only) there
is an effort to get all staff involved in teaching reading and math in
the regular
classrooms part of the day. (because we are doing it so poorly now) I
want to augment
those subjects in my art classes through my curriculum. I don't believe
I am qualified
to teach reading or math as a subject, non do I have the drive or
passion I think it takes
to teach those subjects well. I'm fighting this effort now. I believe
"every teacher is a
teacher of reading", but in their own way through their own subject area.
