I have thought of this myself. However, the "change" that may occur would be
in your own small arena. This is not to say it would not be worth it.
However, being a principal is not an omnipotent position. For example, my own
principal at my school has been very supportive of me and the arts for years.
Yet recently that support has dwindled. Not because his outlook has changed,
but the demands of those superior to him have been bolstered and expansive. I
have realized he is just like us. We do what we can within the parameters of
the system.
