In my experience, even the most active people who get into administration
quickly assume a completely different outlook. They get that glassy look and
smile of blazing hypocrisy, and the PC talk and get defensive about admin.
colleagues they so lately attacked...its rather a wonderful transformation!
They seem forget everything they felt and experienced in the trenches, and
start talking about classroom teachers as if they were annoying, uninformed,
selfish persons (who needed to be kept uninformed ... For their own good of
course!) and who just don't understand the 'big picture.' In my opinion a
great deal of admin. can and should be done at school sites.
