Plaster casting in elementary level

Hi...I have two second grade teachers who want to do plaster casting (animal
tracks) with their students in their classrooms. I only endorse the use of
non-toxic materials with the elementary level - but do not know of any
plaster that is non-toxic and appropriate for use with children. ( This is an
activity suggested in their science text) Do any of you know of another
material or different approach that would give them the same results? Carol
