<< Subject: Re: Sharing an art room

How many art teachers share a room with another art teacher during the day?
What works? What doesn't work? What are your schedules like?

This year we have 1 full time art teacher (me) and two half time art
teachers. One room. I team teach with both teachers. Our 3rd, 4th, 5th and
6th grades are all double classes.....48 students in the room, two teachers.
The school is K-6. I see all 800 students once a week, various amounts of
time. I am fortunate: I like the teachers I am teamed with and we work well
together. Otherwise, it would be hell. The noise level is headache
inducing. But! The bonus is I actually teach fewer classes and have that
time we all wished for where I can put up/take down work, prep/plan, make
art. We are told this is one year only: portables have been planned for, etc.
Yeah, right. Melissa Smith
