Indeed! What gets forgotten in this debate is pedagogy...teaching art to
children is more than knowing a lot about art; although that is a must too.
I tell the children when they comment about "real teachers' vs. music or art
teachers that art teachers are classroom teachers as well as art teachers,
and have degrees in art as well as education! We are more rather than less.
