Fixing Tables and Height

Hi Everyone !
You all have such neat ideas on how to fix tables. So here are 2 ideas about
how to maintain them. The janitor at my old school would apply wax that they
put on the floor on the tables and then buff it with his floor buffer on the
tops of tables. Also you know how glue gets stuck on the tables and drives you
nuts. After the kids have washed down the table table, use a safety raysor
blades(where 1 side of the rayors in covered) and scrap at a 45 degree angle
on the table and the glue lifts right off. Then I have the kids wipe it
Now here is my question. I have to teach on 18 inch high tables for
Kindergarden. and some what higher for elementary kids. I have developed
heriated dics (2) from the tables, the low sinks, and constant pick up from
the floor. My question is what height should tables be at in gerneral? Do you
make them for the kids that are in for 2- 45 minutes projects per week or for
the teacher who bends over them all the time? I would of course want them to
be closer to the kids sizes but couldn't they be a little bigger. My kids
don't seem to mind and I have 3 heights in my art room now. Thanks for your
input. Hail
