This year I have asked the students to bring in the 'box tops for education'
from General Mills foods. (Cheerios, Chex, Cocoa Puffs, fruit roll ups,
Yoplait Yogurt packs etc.) They are worth 15 or 10 cents each and the program
runs until June 2000. It's amazing how fast they add up and the kids love
bringing them to me. They all eat cereal, so it is just a matter of asking
them to save them. General Mills will send you a check that you can use for
whatever you want. I have the website at school if you want it--or it is
listed on some cereal boxes. You have to register to participate in the
program. I did a quick web search and just came up with a bunch of school
websites asking for people to send them box tops, so it must work, but I
didn't find the general mills site. good luck! Susan Briggs

<<Hi! I just found your site. What a relief to find other art teachers. I
teach in northern Alberta on a Cree reserve. My classes range from
primary readiness to Grade 12. Our school seems to run out of money when
it comes to supplies. Does anyone have any good fundraising activities
rather than running bingos?>>
