I am currently working on a paper involving a life centered issue. My
idea is to create a lesson around excess and waste in American culture.
I want students to consider what we use and throw away each day. I also
want them to compare the USA with other countries in how waste is dealt
with and how much is recycled. I have involved discussion on how social
class, income, and education are factors in how we deal with waste as a
culture. I have chosen three different artists that each work with this
issue, but on different levels. One works on the most simple level of
reusing toilet paper rolls to create a work of art. On a more
conceptual level, I have chosen Ann Hamilton's piece, Privation and
Excess. As part of this paper I need to provide some inquiry questions
for students. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really appreciate
