I loved Cindy's lesson in which she asks students to compare local
buildings to famous structures. Do you go on to ask them to "rank" them or
to see if the local buildings have been "spoiled" by things like neon
signs, disrepair, etc? Do the students think buildings influenced by
classical styles are more or less beautiful than more modern ones. Have
you introduced the notion of the Golden Mean? (see our dialogue for a
definition of this) This is a great way to relate art classes to math
