Photography course prereq.

Hi all,
I know this was discussed previously, but I'd like to revisit a
topic from a different angle. At our High School, Photography was moved this
school year from Language Arts to the Art department, and at that point in
time we did not opt to link it to our Intro classes which are prerequisites
for other Art courses. All of our course offerings are a semester in length,
with the exception of AP Art History (which BTW, also does not have a
prerequisite).
I read with interest the many postings which spoke of having
students take prerequisite Art courses prior to Photo, because drawing
helped their eye for composition, and so forth.
In our building, where we have several electives competing with each
other for few slots, students open to learning about composition, and who
happen to feel more comfortable shooting images rather than rendering them,
I am not real interested in changing the non-prerequisite status of Photo.
I just wondered if anyone out there has the same situation and/or
agrees with me? I don't remember seeing any (?) opinions expressed on this
side of the question.

One last question-also dealing with Photography,...I am aware there
is a video out there somewhere about Ansel Adams....Is anyone familar with
it? If so, do you have a title and production company you could email me?

Thanks All!
