We just returned from a quick weekend tour of Washington,D.C. We travel by
bus 18 hours from Florida to D.C. with 17 teachers and 19 students. We went
to see the van Gogh, the Chuck Close and the play about Picasso and Einstein
by Steve Martin.
One of our side trips gave the students a fabulous feeling of Rome. The Union
Station in Washington,D.C. is fashioned architecturally after a Roman bath so
my humanities teacher tells us and it is absolutely grand. It gave the
students the feeling of this massive architectural grandeur.
