ArtsEdNetters:
In two weeks I will be sponsoring our induction ceremony for our NAHS =
chapter. At last years induction ceremony I had three of my students =
read statements on "What is Art," "Why have Art," and what it means to =
have art scholarship, character, and service. Most of my reference =
material was taken from Robert Henri's book "The Art Spirit."
I am looking for some other sources so I can add to my program this =
year. Last year the superintendent, principal, assistant principal, and =
two school board members were in attendance. My guest speaker talked =
about the importance of encouraging students to pursue art as a career =
despite the misconceptions the general public has about making a living =
doing art. I was so happy that the administrators in attendance were =
able to hear this!! =20
If anyone can send me any helpful resources I would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
