Dr. Labadie's response raises an interesting question in my mind: In in
field of Art Therapy we have long recognized that in order for art
therapists to stay in tune with all aspects of the work (art+therapy), we
must stay active in our art making. I believe the credentials board is even
looking at requirements that art therapists take a certain number of studio
courses in addition to any other continuing education requirements that are
therapy related. I know that art teachers take continuing education
courses. Has your governing body considered that art teachers also need to
stay on top of both components of their work: art+teaching?
